LET US KNOW IF THERE IS A SPECIFIC GOLDEN RETRIEVER TOPIC YOU'D LIKE TO SEE DISCUSSED.
Green beans, apples and carrots can be great snacks for your golden and a healthy alternative to many biscuits and treats on the market, but not all human food is safe for your pet. Most people know not to feed their dogs chocolate, caffeine, or onions ... but did you know dogs should not eat avocados, green tomatoes, or grapes/raisins. Lots of owners admit their dog has eaten grapes, but grapes and raisins are known to cause renal failure in dogs after eating just one grape - yes! even if your dog has had grapes before, so it's not worth the risk. See below to see which fruits and vegetables are ok for sharing in moderation and which should be avoided. Even if you don’t feed table scraps, take a look just in case your golden sneaks a snack at your next cook. These are not complete lists and please don't assume if a food item is not on the list it's safe to eat. Do your own research and talk to your vet if you have any questions.
